Simply Adorable

Last night I got to visit the family birthing center at the Tracy Hospital and meet the newest addition to my Tracy family.....Vivian Grace!! She is perfect! I loved every second of my visit. I got to hold her and smell her and enjoy this blessing with Steve and Natalie. Of course Natalie looks amazing already...she had on an adorable pink outfit and robe to celebrate her baby girl.
It was fun for me to walk back into the birthing center at the Tracy hospital....I was instantly transported back to Hunter's birth almost 9 months ago. The smells, sounds and people brought me back to one of the most memorable moments of my life. The birth of new life is the greatest blessing that the Lord gives us....it is powerful, majestic and humbling.

Learning new tech skills at work today!

Configuring wireless access points for the two new storage buildings so that the fork lift drivers can locate the bins of almonds. Cool! Well it is at least cool that I figured out how to do it!! Hehe!

Never Ending....Lessons

My baby boy is always sick....or at least I feel like that is the truth. Some issue is always arising...teeth, colds, fever, asthma and another cold. It rips my heart out to see him in such discomfort. I want to stop everything I am doing and just hold him in my arms.

Then I get to thinking........and I am reminded that all is well, that I have been blessed beyond belief through this child. I am reminded of families like Gavin's that struggle in a way that will rock your faith and bring you to tears....if they have the faith and strength to push forward then so should I.

Perhaps it is not the illness but the way we treat and handle the illness that will heal us.....

Our Almond Tree's are in Bloom

This is one of my favorite times of year. The almond trees burst out of dormancy with the most brilliant pink blossums. Today is the first day the blooms on our trees have swollen....a few more days and they will all pop open. I cannot wait!

Day in the garden

As you can see we were growing a healthy bunch of weeds and we were supporting a few dead and rotting plants too!

Here is the after shot...what a difference!! I need to wrap up the rope and wash off the side walk still...maybe tomorrow....

We planted 4 rose bushes that Wade got me for Valentines and several dozen bulbs. I cannot wait until the bulbs start to show them selves. We are going to put some river rocks down as ground cover....that is the only thing that will stop the neighborhood cats from using it as a litter box.

Where did the wheeze go?

We do not know and we do not care.....

Hunter's dr appointment went well yesterday. When I met Hunter and Wade for the appointment Hunter sounded like a new boy. It was a miracle! He is not wheezing or coughing right now.

The plan is to continue all treatments except the oral steroid and see if his wheezing stays away. Lets hope so!!

Lucky Boy

Grandma Sherry called last night and Hunter is a BIG winner!! Sherry purchased each grandchild a lotto ticket at the Nipawin Hawks Hockey games and Hunter was the BIG winner.....$1000 for college. Clink into the piggy bank!!

Dinner Time

On Monday night we made had tacos and I learned that I do not know the difference between cabbage and lettuce. Haha.
Last night we had shrimp pasta in a white wine cream sauce with Bok Choy. Yummy!!
I have been realizing that I do enjoy cooking...and that I feel better physically when I eat good home cooked meals! Cooking also has given me fun opportunities to let Hunter taste and play with all types of different foods. Besides there is just something about me that innately wants to provide all of the comforts of home. For years I have dreamed of having a family to feed and now I do!!
The most difficult part about cooking dinner is that there are some nights I am just done when I get home...I can hardly muster up the energy to order a pizza....and there are other nights I just want to pour all of my attention over my boys. Some day, if my wish comes true, I will be able to spend my days playing with Hunter, planning healthy and delicious meals for my boys and working in the garden.....until then I do the best I can every day to do it all.

News....

No change. We are following all of the doctors orders and pumping our munchkin full of meds....but with no results. We still have a few more days to go. Tuesday is our apt with the specialist.

This weekend will be nice for us to just rest, relax and be together. Happy Friday!!

Fish Face

The nebulizer has a mask attached that assures Hunter is breathing in all the medicine....the mask is a fish face:) Hunter thinks it is a toy and he is a real trooper through the treatment. Most of the time he sleeps right through it....thank God!

When I picked up Hunter from Miss. Rachelle's place I was really hoping to see an improvement...however his wheeze was so loud I could hear it from outside as I approached the house...well not really, but it was not in any way improved. Tomorrow is a new day and we will keep trying. Good night. We love you.

I love pizza!

Update

Still coughing. Still wheezing. Still sneezing. In all fairness, 2 of the 4 prescriptions did not get filled until last night due to pharmacy being out of stock. We are doing 2 nebulizer treatments. One twice a day and the other as needed. We are also giving Hunter "Singulair" and a steroid once a day.

Our air purifier arrived last night. It has an indicator light that shows if the air is dirty and it automatically gears up to clean....last night it was orange and running clean cycles....SCARY that our air was dirty. The machine is VERY quiet, which is a plus because we kept it in Hunter's room all night.

I will post some pictures later tonight. Keep hoping for the BEST and praying that we find answers. XO

Allergies??

Yesterday we were out to eat with Nic and Hunter sneezed and his head went flying into the table. He screamed in pain and my heart dropped....the rest of the night all I could think about is how much I HATE THE SNEEZING.
I feel like I have been hitting my head against the wall trying to figure out why my son has such horrible wheezing, sneezing and coughing. We have tried acid reflux meds, nebulizers for asthma, the cold route with meds and steroids.....none of it has really worked. I just want to know what is making Hunter sound so awful.
Hunter is such a happy kid. He does not whine or complain about his coughing, wheezing or sneezing...he just laughs and smiles and gives out tons of hugs. All the more that makes me want to find out why he is struggling with his respiratory system.
Wade and I have been searching high and low through google to find out what the possibilities are. We ordered the million dollar, top of the line air purifier and that arrives this week:)Tomorrow we have an appointment with a children's allergist. I am hoping to find a solution but praying that is does not include Laredo and the cats. Hunter's face lights up and his hands reach out every time the animals walk close to him. I would hate to think that they are the cause of his problems.....we will see.
Pray that we find answers. Xo

Cleaning Up...a load to the dump!

Albondigos

I have a dear friend that is a superb cook. She is one of those cooks that never writes a recipe on paper. Everything is a pinch of this and dash of that from memory. If I wanted to learn how to cook a dish she made I would have to shadow her every move and take my own notes.....Well this soup has been a hit with my husband and I owe it all to Ericka.

Thanks for teaching me that cooking is more than a recipe.

Vivian we cannot wait to meet you

On Saturday I had the opportunity to celebrate the precious baby Vivian that is growing inside Natalie. Presents, cake, beautiful woman and a glowing Natalie....This party was perfect.

Vivian, We love you. Your parents are top notch and will provide a home, love, discipline and comfort beyond your wildest dreams. We cannot wait to have you here to join us for family fun nights!! Natalie and Steve we are overflowing with joy for you as you welcome your perfect little girl into your lives. Thanks for including us.

My Husband the Thinker...

I have never in my whole life met someone who enjoys thinking through processes and ideas as much as Wade does. Wade smiles at a tax challenge in need of research, a new technology to learn or a programing bug that needs fixing like a kid smiles at a candy bar. He comes alive at the mere sight of an intellectual challenge.

He cannot sleep or eat until he discovers the answer and overcomes the obstacle. I love that he is not complacent. I admire that he is continuously learning and never giving up. This is one of my many favorite pictures of Wade. In this picture I can see all of the thoughts racing out of his mind and up to heaven. I can see him talking to God.
